This site was a bit of a gamble for us, as the big industrial holiday park type campsites are not our bag. We secured 20% off as it was out of season, almost the end of their year and were quite pleased with the price. There was no mention on their website of any of the facilities being closed out of season either, so we were hoping that would be the case with bar, shop, pool and bike hire for our entertainment.
There was plenty of staff on as they had more mobile homes and chalets than pitches, so there was always someone bobbing about in a golf buggy. The 2 toilet blocks always seemed to be being cleaned at odd times, and despite this, we’re never actually all that clean. Clearly, a hose down is all that they ever got.

So the smalls did have fun with the go carts, especially as the weather was dull and the site was quiet. They were 10 euro per beard for an hour. Lucky Nannan sent ice cream money! We eventually had to give in to the constant whining to go in the pool, and the water was warm, but it was too cold out.

We ate at the terrasse restaurant twice and paid around a hundred euros each time for fairly average food. The price was not much different than when we ate out in Montmartre. Take from that what you will.

It was nice being by the river, the walk into Maisons-Laffitte was about 20 minutes to get shopping or catch the metro into the city.

Astoundingly we were underprepared in the ping pong department, so bought a set of bats from the shop, and promptly burst 6 ping pong balls on the concrete table. Of course Dad won every match 🙄

We moved the van once to refill the water and empty the John and getting it back on the pitch was a bit interesting with all the rain. Getting it off again was a bit slidey but by that time we didn’t care.
The wet weather wasn’t as bad as we had been expecting, but we still had a fair bit of precipitation and I’m glad we had plenty of marvel mats to catch the muck on the way into the van and room to dry wet coats in the bathroom.

So, did we enjoy it? Overall, yes, not a summer trip or a summer campsite. I wouldn’t want to pay high season prices to stay there. Probably the best thing was the location, amongst the greenery of the riverbank but close enough to the city to enjoy both.

That and quality van time with the best people.
